Eight hours of sleep to much? Well my current average of like four means I'm gonna be an old man, well if I didn't drink all that Mt. Dew and Cheez-its.
But yea, anyone else having trouble getting to sleep predawn-ish? It's horrible to have my hours of "activity" ie sitting on my butt not tired being the time frame that most are sleep. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have the other 16 hours filled up with school and work.

The system is _snappy_
I got a new camera a few hours ago and I've been messing around with it and image ready to make animations, this is my outcome so far. I was gonna put the pic up here, but then I thought that it'd get really annoying really fast, so link.
Anyways, if anyone can help me find a way to apply a filter to a bunch of layers at the same time
I'd appreciate it, having to click on each of the 66 (for that gif) and possibly more doesn't appeal to me.

The system is _full of wii_
In a radio contest a couple of days ago a woman died via drinking to much water. The cuprit was water intoxication, or the unbalancing of electrolytes (the stuff Gatorade/Powerade is "famous" for). This leads to rather nasty brain injury, all for a $250 console. Eww...
The system is _made of funny words_
Funny word of the day: reheapification.
Learned it in CS318 Algorithm Analysis today. It deals with what you have to do to a priority heap after a deletion. Nothing profound here, just a humorous word.

The system is _frozen_
Ok, so this doesn't really have anything to do with tech and whatnot, but why is it so cold?!So, not only is it sub-freezing out their, but we just got a electricity bill (floorboard heaters) that was like twice as much as last month.
So it's colder and I don't want to have to pay as much...
Yay for coffee though!

The system is _not as new as you think_
So everyone in class today saw, and maybe paid some attention to the apple iphone announcement keynote thingy.
Well in that Mr. Jobs said something that rubbed me the wrong way; he said that they had invented the multi-touch display. Well nearly a year ago there were videos out showing not only multi-touch but multi-user displays.
Now, I'm not saying that the iphone isn't all nice and dandy, just that it's not quite as unique as they want you to believe... wow, I feel like a weird version of a hippy, except that it's Apple that's "the man"
It also appears now that iPhone isn't even Apple's trademark, and Cisco has their own phone that's been trademarked since the turn of the century.
What's next to put up a road block?

The system is _huge_

With 1 Terabyte hard drives just around the corner, and people like Seagate cramming data into tiny spaces, all I can say is wow I hope that drive is stable!
You could back up all three of my drives onto that beast and still have room to spare, plus it'd probably cost about the same, and free up the internal space that my system wishes it had.
Did a little math, which I hope is right, probably not but you could store roughly 585 hours of HD content on 1 TB (assuming 1.8 GB per hour)
The system is _not at war_
Oh noes! Hackers are out to hack the gibson and steal everything!!... says "experts" from one anti-spyware company I've never heard of.
"Security firms say Internet crime can be hard to combat because it embraces different continents and time zones."
-- Say it isn't so, the internet is being used from more than across the street!
"Criminals are hiring students to plant as sleepers in companies and huge amounts of data can be removed on small, portable memory sticks."
-- Where are the hackers?
"Modern mobile phones are in essence miniature portable computers..."
-- Isn't that exactly what they are? I mean, it's not magic that's running those ringtones and fancy games you downloaded.
"As people grow wise to email scams, criminal gangs will find new ways to commit online fraud, sell fake goods or steal corporate secrets."
-- Hasn't: "As people grow wise toemail scams, criminal gangs will find new ways to commit online fraud, sell fake goods or steal corporate secrets." Been true for a long time?
Simply put, there is no big conspiricy of hackers, just lots of scammers that want to make an easy buck. Be smart, don't type in your credit card number if you don't trust the site or at least see https:// first.
