So everyone in class today saw, and maybe paid some attention to the apple iphone announcement keynote thingy.
Well in that Mr. Jobs said something that rubbed me the wrong way; he said that they had invented the multi-touch display. Well nearly a year ago there were videos out showing not only multi-touch but multi-user displays.
Now, I'm not saying that the iphone isn't all nice and dandy, just that it's not quite as unique as they want you to believe... wow, I feel like a weird version of a hippy, except that it's Apple that's "the man"
It also appears now that iPhone isn't even Apple's trademark, and Cisco has their own phone that's been trademarked since the turn of the century.
What's next to put up a road block?

True. This has been a concept for a long time. Steve Jobs is a master marketeer and he is fantastic at stirring up enthusiasm for Apple. They are great at taking ideas and running with them. Remember, Xerox came up with the GUI and the mouse. Apple gave it to us. Are you sure he said Apple invented to touch screen? I thought he said that they patented the technology.
At about the 33.5 minute mark he says "we've invented a new technology called multi-touch"
Now, I'm not saying that it's not the first consumer usage of it, which for all I know it is. However it just seems that he has a bit to much hubris.
